After logging into the review site, utilize the review instructions to assist you in answering the review questions for your assigned proposals.
A technical reviewer serves as the subject matter expert and reviews submissions to ensure they are scientifically sound, innovative, and relevant to the profession. The technical review process occurs prior to the Continuing Education Committee and Conference Program Committee reviews and assists the committees in selecting the final content to be presented as the 2021 education program. Don’t miss out on this opportunity to shape the education program!
The review will be completed entirely online and will be open September 28 to October 11, 2020. The time commitment, per proposal, is approximately 15-20 minutes and will vary depending on the number of submissions received in your topic area. Most topics will have a handful of proposals (5-10), while more popular topics, like Risk Assessment, could have many more reviews to complete (50-100). Unfortunately, we cannot provide you with the exact number of proposals you will review until after the submission deadline has passed. If you would like to volunteer, plan your schedule accordingly with time set aside for review during the entire review period of September 28-October 11.
*NOTE: If volunteer names are not supplied by volunteer groups, we will ask committee leadership (Chair and Vice Chair) to assume review responsibility for each committee. This is your committee’s opportunity to help select the content offered at the 2021 conference.
We ask each volunteer group to submit the names of 4 reviewers and 2 alternates by Monday, August 12 to Erin Breece. Specifically, we need a minimum of 2 reviewers for PDCs and 2 for the education program (the same 2 volunteers can review both PDCs and education submissions), as well as an alternate for each in any given topic area. This is the minimum number needed, but more can volunteer to review if desired. We do not have a maximum number of reviewers per topic area. Reviewers are not required to attend AIHce EXP, but they must be current, active AIHA committee members. You can volunteer to review Professional Development Courses (PDCs), education sessions, or both (specify your preference at the time of volunteering).
AIHA held a Town Hall on Tuesday, July 28 at 2:00 p.m. ET to discuss the upcoming technical review process.
