No Matter Where You Are, AIHce EXP Is Your Destination

Networking Reception

AIHce EXP offers key career development opportunities no matter where you are on your professional pathway. From our Personal AIHce Liaison (PAL) mentor program to sessions specifically designed for various career levels and our CareerAdvantage center, just to name a few, you can maximize all your opportunities at the conference. AIHce EXP has proved to be critical to our attendees’ pathways to success, regardless of career level.

There’s no one-size-fits-all experience for this conference event. Often, our attendees find they might fit more than one career level experience, depending on other factors impacting their professional path. Thus, the following isn’t absolute, but a guide as to what you might expect at AIHce EXP based on where you are on your career journey.

Students/Newcomers

At this stage in the career game you need to meet as many people as possible. So, where else can you get in front of as many experienced, respected, and influential industrial hygiene (IH) and occupational and environmental health and safety (OEHS) professionals?

Keep in mind these attendees want to meet people just like you, too! They want to help foster the next generation of IH professionals. You’ll want to consider making a stop at CareerAdvantage to learn more about polishing your resume, finding a mentor to help you identify your path to success, talk about leadership with more seasoned pros, or even help finding your next big IH opportunity. And if you're a first-time attendee? We strongly urge you to make room in your schedule for the First Timer's Meet and Greet, sponsored by DuPont.

Early Career/Young Professional

Still mastering your core competencies? If so, remember that AIHce EXP is your one-stop-shop for all things IH and OEHS! You can benefit from education, professional development, networking, and anything else you need to become an established professional.

We also know that networking is critical in today’s work environment. Take the time to attend the various networking events scheduled during the conference. And don’t be shy in reaching out to your peers and going out to an area eatery to have more in-depth discussions about the topics you’re passionate about. We’ve left plenty of downtime in the evening for you to take advantage of – and great spots to chill and relax are all around downtown Atlanta.

Passionate Professional

We get it: you’re a diehard attendee of the conference. Your face is recognized by so many of your peers, and you’ve been around the professional block a number of times. You’re back at the conference because you know its value to your work and your passion. Being an experienced hand at this, you've already got your schedule of sessions memorized and a full slate of professional development courses to attend.

Chances are you’re already a member of a volunteer committee – but if you’re not, what are you waiting for? Stop by the AIHA booth and talk to our Membership staff about growing your professional network and career opportunities through volunteering.

Already volunteering? Thank you! Your work is valued and appreciated by your peers. Consider kicking back with them at one of our planned social functions or maybe even see how they do their jobs through a Technical Tour visit. After all, conference is more than just nonstop education; it’s about taking part in a professional community that appreciates and celebrates what you do to protect worker health.

Emeritus

You’ve made your mark in the IH community through your significant experience in the field. It’s time to think about what’s next when it comes to the future career mountains you want to climb. AIHce EXP is your time to reconnect with old friends, reminisce about yesteryears’ successes and challenges, and bask in the glow of your accomplishments. We invite you to consider taking up the mantle of mentorship and pass on your considerable knowledge and experience to the next generation. Visit the AIHA booth and talk with a Membership staff member about what opportunities might be available for you as a mentor and guide for these newcomers.

So where do you fall in all of this? Consider what your professional goals are – both now and in the future – and tailor your 2020 experience to enhance those opportunities. AIHce EXP has a lot to offer no matter your professional level. We look forward to helping you achieve your goals this year in Atlanta!
